Turnagain is a large coastal neighborhood located on the eastern edge of the city. This community is just south of downtown, making it convenient to all of the city center's famous amenities. Due to its sheer scale, Turnagain is a suitable neighborhood for a wide range of buyers. Entry-level, mid-range, and upmarket houses can all be found within this area, which is also very walker and cyclist-friendly. Children growing up in Turnagain benefit from being walking distance to recreational attractions such as Earthquake Park and Lynn Ary Park. The state-of-the-art Chester Creek Sports Complex is also nearby, home to baseball fields, the Mulcahy Baseball Stadium, hockey rinks, and a skate park. Shopping, dining, and grocery stores are just a stone's throw away from Turnagain homes, while the highly regarded West High School serves as a major academic draw.

South Addition

South Addition is situated just north of the Turnagain neighborhood and is also located near downtown Anchorage. However, this esteemed and established neighborhood boasts a prestigious reputation and is home to some of the most coveted properties within the city center. The area offers a mix of older renovated homes and newly built properties, almost all of which are single-family residences. This safe area has low unemployment, low crime rates, and a friendly atmosphere with lots of beautiful green space. Delaney Park and Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park bound the neighborhood, providing gorgeous trails to run, bike, and hike in the summer or ski and snowshoe during winter. They also offer skating, Frisbee golf, cafes, and ball fields.

South Addition's Westchester Lagoon is a great place for local families to enjoy a day outside. Here, you can go kayaking, let the kids run around on the playground, and spot wildlife. In wintertime, the lagoon hosts the beloved Family Skate event, where hundreds of people come to enjoy themed ice skating games and take advantage of the delicious free hot chocolate.

This subdivision is ultra-safe, so children can play outside without worry. Excellent parks and waterfront lookouts are close by, while Goldenview Middle School sits at the heart of the neighborhood. Bear Valley Elementary School and South Anchorage High School are also conveniently located.
